Ran 6 miles with Rick today at around an 8:45 pace and then continued on from the gym to run another 10 miles.  Did the course up to Morris and back.  Ran the first 9 miles in 63:58 (7:06 pace), running 3 miles at threshold (6:10 was the fastest) and 4 miles at mp.  There were two miles that were mp effort, but speed was down due to hills.  Also, jogged the final mile as a "cooldown".  Overall, felt good about the effort- no fuel or drink for the entire 16 miles, yet still a bit in the tank at the end.

Thanks....my next marathon will be Detroit in October....until then I want to keep in as best shape as possible....hoping for a BQ in Detroit, as long as I can stay injury free!

thanks Robert! I'm going to run a 5k this Friday with very low expectations. The running's been good, but I've definitely been liberal in my eating habits (up 5 lbs since Boston). Vacation was very enjoyable, but not too helpful to the diet.

Congrats on being in Boston. Thats my goal right now. Hopefully I'll do it at St. George in October. I actually moved to Newport last year so I'm not a native but thanks for the comment and good luck with your goals.

thanks...this run, along with a couple other workouts, really wiped me out this weekend. However, I hope it pays off in the long run. Keep up the good work yourself. Staying injury free seems like a priority. I'll enjoy feeding off your recorded work outs as well.
