Great day at church followed by Father's Day celebration.  Ate way too much mexican food.  The family settled down at home, so I headed off a run.  It was raining pretty good for 2/3 of the workout.  Started with a 1-mile warm-up, followed by two 3-mile tempos, and closed it out with 3-mile cooldown...

1st 3-mile tempo:  19:46 (6:35 pace...one steep downhill 1/4 mile and 1 mild uphill)

-walked for 2-min-

2nd 3-mile tempo:  20:20 (6:46 pace...same effort, but one 1/2 mile stretch uphill...mile 3 was flat in 6:34)

Felt good with th effort after 34-miles in 2 runs on Fri/Sat.  Plan on a 5-miler this Saturday.  Again, a fairly tough course, yet I hope to beat last year's time by at least a minute (or two).

Great work and happy father's day. Like you I ate too much.

I hope the course becomes so easy for you to run. God is your strength.

Sounds like you had an awesome day. Great day at church, a full stomach and great family time and you even had time for a ten miler. Can it get any better than that? Now to my question about running the Pocatello marathon? I think i will be, but Steve Ashbaker (another person on the blog) asked me to run a marathon with him and so i am waiting for him to get back to me about that. But if nothing works out with him i will for sure run the Pocatello Marathon. I have been doing a lot of training on the course with Kory and i am almost feel like i am ready. Are you interested in running the Pocatello Marathon? You could stay with me and my wife, i have lots of room in my house. Anyway, something to think about. Have a great night!

Todd, thanks, glad to hear your day went well.

Kory, thanks...my endurance is 100% stronger than last year at this time, yet it might take a little time to build back some speed. These races force me to run harder than I would on my own.

Barry, great to hear! If I'm correct, this would be your first marathon. I think you will do quite well, based on the past year of training. Thank you for the invitation...Kory also expressed a willingness to host. One day of would love to run the course as well as meet you guys, however, this year I have a church conflict on the same weekend. Have a great week!
