High 30's outside!  Would love to have been able to run hard, but I'm still in recovery mode from the weekend.  Did 5-miles easy + weights w/legs.  Plan to run again in the evening.

With the increased mileage, I've let go of following a strict diet.  Still plan on eating healthy, but doesn't seem to be the time to skimp on calories and try to lose weight.  Lost 5 lbs., but it's causing me to lose energy as well.  I'll keep running hard, eating healthy, and let weight take care of itself.

Good idea on the food. Be good and eat reasonably, but my experience has been when you start pushing the mileage up, you are hungry all the time and can eat like a horse and still not gain weight (or most likely keep losing it!).

thanks for your input on this Jeff. As I was beginning to successfully lose weight, I felt short on energy 2 weeks in a row on the long-run. This week I ate more on Thurs/Friday and had a much more successful 20-miler on Saturday. Glad to have lost the weight, but need to be careful not to over do it. May focus more on the weight loss after Boston, when the mileage is down and do it very gradually.

Trust your body, you know what is healthy and we run to live so indulge here and there. Last night I could not sleep so I went downstairs and had a bowl of cereal, my god it was the best cereal I have ever had.... We work hard and deserve to eat all the great food that god blesses us with.

I have read a lot that people overtrain for Boston and don't consume enough calories leading up so I think we need to put as much healthy food in as possible over the next 10 weeks and the occational chocolate almond, etc...

Run well this week, weather is nice.
