Ran 10 miles today.  The first 2 miles @ 9min/pace to the track.  At the track started with a 3-mile tempo (6:39, 6:38, 6:29).  Jogged another mile and then did 16 x 100m sprints on the soccer field (jogged 100m between sprints).  Jogged 2 miles back home.

Legs feel great.  Right foot is still tender.  Plan to do much less on pavement this week- mostly track and treadmill.  Need to get this foot thing back under control.

Nice workout. Do you do your workouts before or after Church.

I usually do mine before Church. Usually I don't run on Sunday, but lately I feel I'm trying to relax my spirit to get out there and run and think about Church, and having a good spiritual attitude going to Church, because lately my Spirit needs to be revive or something.

I do them after church. It is one of the most powerful times for me during the week. Obviously, Sunday is a big day for me (sermon + family). Our pattern is church, fellowship (coffee hour), and then head out to eat. We take our time and upon returning home, everyone "crashes"- nap time. This used to be the time of day I would watch football. Now I often head out for a run. Much time to pray, reflect, think over the morning, and then even shift my thoughts towards the upcoming week. I don't view this as "work" or "breaking the Sabbath"...it definitely fits in to our family day and allows me some personal "rest time" as well. This Sunday I wasn't able to get out until dark, still had a great experience.

If I didn't have a sermon on Sunday, I might take your approach. Seems to make a lot of sense.

Nice tempo run with very consistent splits!

Sorry to jump in your conversation but just to add my two cents. I normally don't run on Sundays either but I ran yesterday after church since my wife and kids were in a meeting. I ran through some trails where the leaves were falling and no one was around. It was definitely a great time/place just to think and reflect on the greatness of God and his creation.

BTW, hope the foot gets better!

thanks Jim...it's easier to run them evenly on the track. Nice to hear about your great run. Enjoy those last few weeks of descent weather...I went to school near Chicago (Wheaton) and do not envy your midwest winters.
